The German Blue Card is a residence permit for highly-qualified workers from non-EU countries. To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Education: You need a degree from a German educational institution or a degree recognized as comparable to a German university degree.
  2. Job Offer: You must have an employment contract or a binding job offer from an employer in Germany.
  3. Work Experience: Relevant work experience of at least five years is required.
  4. Salary: The annual gross salary must be at least €55,200 (or €43,056 for jobs in mathematics, IT, natural sciences, engineering, or human medicine)1.
  5. Qualification: You must be qualified for the job.
  6. Authorization: You should be allowed to work in that specific job role in Germany.
